Fall Promotions Internship
at Cumulus Media Broadcasting in Missouri
Cumulus Broadcasting is located in Columbia, MO but is responsible for radio stations here and in Jefferson City. Our stations in Columbia are 101.5 KPLA, 100.1 the Buzz, Q106.1, 102.3 BXR and 1400AM KFRU. The Jefferson City stations are 104.1 JEFF, 97.5 COOL and 1200AM KLIK. The Promotions Department is in charge of planning the remotes and special events for each of our eight stations. This department communicates with all aspects of this business, from the Sales and Marketing Department to the Program Directors. It’s a lot of fun and each day is different from the next!
Duties:
•Will assist Promotions Director prepare for upcoming events
oConsists of hanging banners before concerts, taking pictures with company camera for station website, following up with business owners and station program directors to make sure everything is ok before, during and after event
•Will attend various meetings, in both Columbia and Jefferson City
•Will be allowed to be in station during broadcast to learn about behind-the-scenes
•Must work at least 3 remotes/events (as assigned)
oThere must be at least 1 intern at every event, number of events vary depending on semester
•Must be available to work some holidays/weekends
•Must be prompt and dressed appropriately
•Must be responsible
•Must be energetic, confident, creative and a quick learner
•Must be able to have fun!
