We are currently seeking talented and highly motivated students to train and participate in the Sales Internship Program at our Troy, NY location of Pitney Bowes Software (MapInfo Corporation and Group 1 Software).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Product and Sales Vertical education and training.
• Executive Sales Prospecting Program training
• Researching, identifying, and qualifying leads.
• Contacting current and prospective customers through telephone and email campaigns.
Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working towards an Undergraduate or Graduate degree.
• Major in business management preferred.
• Strong desire to work in sales
• Knowledge and experience with MS Office and Lotus Notes

Overview:
The Pitney Bowes Software Sales department has developed a sales internship program to train and educate college students perusing a business degree. This program has been designed to allow students to receive college credit and gain real life business experience in a corporate environment, while being educational, enjoyable, and productive for both the intern and the company. It covers a wide variety of processes including networking, training, research, and active customer contact.
The internship program will provide 2 tracks for qualified candidates. The Direct Sales Track will provide a focus on professional direct sales calling and prospecting within vertical markets. The Sales Support track will provide a more technical approach focusing on pre-sales and sales engineering support.
Throughout each process, the interns will be responsible for continuing to enhance their Pitney Bowes Software knowledge, develop both oral and written professional communication skills, and network with a variety of industry
professionals. A number of interviews with cross-departmental supporting members as well as a final presentation on your internship will be required. Typical internships run for 10-12 weeks, for 10-12 hours each week, totaling 100-140 hours.
Applicants are also responsible for upholding all required core values and competencies as defined by Pitney Bowes Software. Prior to acceptance into the program, the applicant must complete an interview process which includes a drug screen, background check, and in person or over the phone interviews.
