Does working on high-profile growth initiatives alongside Target’s senior executive team sound exciting? If so, then consider the Strategy Lead position. As a Strategy Lead at Target, you will work on a variety of top-priority corporate growth and innovation initiatives within our existing businesses as well as exploring new business opportunities. A successful Strategy Lead is able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, and trust with both peers and senior executives. The ideal candidate possesses a consulting background along with strong problem-solving, leadership, and communications skills. In sum, the ability to quickly size up a problem, collaborate with Target team members to create a solution, and make changes happen, all with the support of leadership.
Job Description SEE YOURSELF AS A STRATEGY LEAD INTERN:
* Lead a variety of high-impact strategy projects to help Target continue to grow and innovate, both within and beyond the ‘four walls’ of the Target stores * Work closely with leaders throughout Target to create and implement new strategies EXAMPLES OF PREVIOUS PROJECTS * Assess opportunities and recommend strategies to appeal to Hispanic guests * Research guest perceptions around environmental sustainability and macrotrend toward “green” initiatives in the retail sector to shape Target’s positioning relative to competitors * Work alongside Target’s Executive Committee to establish and prioritize the company’s key growth initiatives DURING YOUR SUMMER YOU WILL: * Identify key questions, determine project scope, and design a workplan for the team * Assemble and lead a cross-functional team to develop and test insights * Analyze and discuss key findings with senior leadership SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR: * MBA from top school in progress, with strong academic performance * Excellent analytical, decision-making, and project management skills * Ability to synthesize data quickly and accurately * Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills * Superior leadership skills and potential for advancement * Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness and ability to take risks * Prior retail experience a plus; passion for retail a requirement * Prior management consulting experience strongly preferred but not required * Consumer research experience helpfulCAREER PATH:
Start your career as a Strategy Lead and within 18-24 months you have the opportunity to advance within the Strategy team or pursue other opportunities within Target.
