Job Description IMAGINE AN INTERNSHIP WHERE YOU:
* Help lead the growth of 6Sigma throughout Target, a top initiative of the company * Drive 6Sigma deployment within one or more business pyramids (e.g. Merchandising, Target.com, Stores, Target Financial Services), including coaching and mentoring 6Sigma practitioners within the pyramids * Lead a highly visible project to improve company operations across a range of critical business processesSEE YOURSELF AS A 6SIGMA INTERN:
As a 6Sigma Intern, you’ll work on, and possibly lead, a cross-functional or business pyramid project designed to expose you from project definition to implementation. Depending on the project, successful completion could also earn you a 6Sigma “Green Belt” certification. As one of Target’s key initiatives, few roles provide as much exposure and access to senior executives as the 6Sigma Lead Intern position.
SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
* Interns must be enrolled in business school at the time of the summer internship. * Strong analytical skills * Aptitude for fact-based problem solving and developing pragmatic solutions * Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization * Strong leadership skills * Prior 6Sigma or Lean Manufacturing background helpful, but not necessary * “Fast, Fun and Friendly” mentalityTRAINING, SUPPORT AND BENEFITS WE OFFER:
* A set of initial, formal 6Sigma training to build an effective problem-solving foundation * Based on course scheduling, additional group-specific training focused on Effective Communications, Influencing Skills and Lean Manufacturing Principles * Ongoing training and developmental classes across a wide range of topicsCAREER PATH:
After 12–24 months as a full-time 6Sigma Consultant, team members typically transition to a wide range of pyramids/groups based on personal interests. It is also possible to remain in the 6Sigma Group and progress to the role of Master Black Belt, equivalent to Senior Group Manager.
