Technical Intern – Mail Antispam

Passionate about the Internet and email? Interested in working with one of the world’s largest datasets? With active users numbering in the hundreds of millions and storage measured in tens of petabytes, Yahoo! Mail is one of the fastest-growing, most challenging environments in our industry.

Our systems identify billions of spam messages daily, directly impacting our user experience.
The Anti-Spam team is looking for a top-notch engineering intern to work with Yahoo! engineers converting the data produced by these systems to actionable antispam insights.

Our challenges are often unique due to the scale of our systems. Because of this, you should be prepared to quickly
pick up new skills and be confident in your ability to solve complex problems.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of Java.
• Strong academic exposure to computer science fundamentals like operating systems, algorithms and data structures.
• Academic exposure to distributed computing with hands on projects in distributed computing/open source contributions an added plus.
• Exposure to statistics and machine learning an added plus
