INTERN ARCHITECT—SAN ANTONIO, TX
OVERVIEW:
Produces design and technical solutions for projects with little supervision from a project architect and/or project manager. Responsible for significant aspects of projects. If registered Architect, candidate may be Project Architect depending on demonstrated skills and project complexity.
ESSENTIALS:
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Initiates and produces design solutions and construction documents for review by Project Architect
· Produces and develops study details, models, renderings, construction documents and specifications
· Researches and develops design and technical solutions
· Interfaces with other project team members to set goals and meet shared deadlines
· Selects products, systems and finishes
· Other duties as indicated by project architect or project manager
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Strong collaboration, team-building and organizational skills
· Graduation from BArch or MArch professional degree program
· Six to ten years experience working under the supervision of a licensed architect or registered Interior Designer
· Licensure or enrollment in licensure or professional certification process
· Mastery of AutoCAD 2006 and Microsoft Office software
· Ability to give direction and corrective feedback to entry-level intern/designers for portions of the project and track their progress
· Ability to set up and produce complex construction documents and details
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
· Knowledge of/experience with Revit and Building Information Model
· Mastery of sketching, rendering, model-building, presentation drawing and verbal presentation skills
