Distribution/Acquisition Internship

International film distributor east of downtown Los Angeles area is seeking a resourceful, dynamic self-starter to mentor. Non-paid intern will assist with the sales and acquisitions of independent films. The right candidate will gain invaluable, hands-on experience in the international business of films.
DESCRIPTION (Distribution/Acquisition):
– Research, track and qualify independent films and projects through various means.
– Review completed films, attend festivals and screenings to assist with evaluating potential for acquisition and distribution
– Prepare material and screening packages for distributors
– Assist with worldwide film markets / screenings / festivals publicity and preparation
– Some filing, mailing, general administrative tasks and ad hoc project
QUALIFICATIONS (Distribution/Acquisition)
– College major in film, media, marketing, communications, or related field with strong research skills
– Passion for films and high literacy in film elements and various genres of independent films
– Articulating and charismatic in interpersonal communication in writing, in person and on the phone
– Personable, professional demeanor and able to handle confidential matters
