Full-time CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR

at Bioscrip (Anywhere)

This position will be responsible for the administration, auditing, reporting, and maintenance of pharmaceutical contracts and associated pricing. Provides communication to all appropriate parties, both internal and external, of contract changes/deletions/adds including pricing and new terms and conditions with pharmaceutical manufacturers. Perform pricing audits of contract attachments with wholesaler, providing notification to wholesaler and monitoring credit and rebills.

Qualifications (Required):

Education:

4-year degree in Business, Healthcare, Finance, Accounting or related field.

Experience:

Experience in healthcare related field with purchasing and/or contract administration.

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of MS-based computer applications. Proficient in Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Customer-focused and team oriented.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently, independently, while meeting stringent deadlines.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the principles, procedures and best practices related to this position.
Ability to comfortably interact with different technologies and systems to perform job.
Proficient level of software expertise with using PC software to support activities, especially Microsoft Office.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with all employee levels.
The ability to work with confidential material and maintain confidentiality is required along with sensitivity to employee’s needs and data.
Careful attention to detail.

Other (Required licenses, certifications, schedule flexibility/OT, travel etc.):

Must have scheduling flexibility and be able to work overtime.
Some travel may be needed from time to time (less than 10%)

Job Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, an * by a given duty indicates that duty to be an “essential function.”

Maintain contract files through data entry in Company computer system and verification of hard copy backup provided by Vendor and/or Wholesaler.
Perform competitive research on multi-source and/or generic pharmaceutical products to support efforts to reduce the Company’s pharmaceutical costs. Monitor multisource product pricing in the market and assertively keep contract prices in line with downward market movement, both with current vendors and by adding new vendors.
Audit pharmaceutical contract loads between Company, Wholesaler (primary) and Vendor/Manufacturers. Maintain hard copy files of contract related documents.
Perform cost research, reporting, and auditing using the Company’s systems that procure pharmaceutical products, enabling the individual to work on their own.
Oral and written communication (liaison) between Company, external customer groups, member facilities, pharmaceutical vendors, wholesalers, other departments and team members concerning contract details and terms.
Identify, monitor and quantify vendor price changes and their impact on Company spend/margins on an ongoing basis. Notify all appropriate Company personnel of changes.
Implement and manage reporting requirements. Create applicable Statements of Work coordinating with internal and external groups as necessary.
Assist with preparation of Requests for Proposals for the purchase of pharmaceuticals, ancillary supplies, and services.
Assist with vendor qualification, negotiation, contracting, and management.
Research and assist in the resolution of vendor issues.
Must keep abreast of current department best practices and changes to federal and state laws that affect the department.
Develop, recommend, and assist with the implementation of programs and objectives to achieve business strategy and goals relative to profitability, cost control, and organizational effectiveness.
Represent the company as appropriate in relationships with customers, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, professional societies and similar groups.
Process all required paperwork according to established procedures.
Performs responsibilities as directed achieving desired results within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and professionalism.
Establishes and maintains positive and productive work relationship with all staff and customers.
Demonstrates the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete job responsibilities. Takes personal initiative for technical and professional development.
Follows the company HR policies, Code of Conduct and all department policies and procedures including protecting confidential company; employee and customer information attending work punctually and regularly, and following good safety practices in all activities.
Provide cross-coverage for other departmental functions in times of high demand or staff absence.
Performs other duties and projects as may be assigned.
