Tax Accountant
The Tax Accountant is an experienced position requiring functional knowledge of the sales tax compliance area including research, preparation of supporting schedules and reporting sales/use and gross receipts taxes to the applicable taxing jurisdictions including audit support. In addition, basic income and property tax is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales/Use Tax Compliance function includes:
Preparation of detailed spreadsheets from company reports
Prepare and file tax returns with relevant taxing jurisdictions
Research related tax issues including taxability issues and rate changes
Respond to relevant jurisdiction notices
Maintain and update sales/use tax rate information
Assist with function related audits
Analysis and reconciliation of sales tax accrual and sales tax expense accounts
Preparation of journal entries
File business licenses and permits
Assist with Income Tax and Property Tax teams:
Data retrieval, preparation of spreadsheets, completing returns as needed
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in multi-state corporate tax experience in sale/use and gross receipts taxes, Excel/spreadsheet preparation, electronic returns filing, CCH and other on-line research tools
Proficient in Word and Outlook
Proven analytical and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Occasional overtime as required
Bachelors degree preferred
