Under the general direction of the AVP, the Director delivers consistent and effective leadership on various business processes and technologies in line with organizational policies and procedures for any or all of the Patient Access functions:
Pre-registration/Registration.
Financial Clearance (insurance verification, benefit verification, authorization/referral validation, payor notification); Point of Service
Collections
Financial Counseling
Requirements
-Minimum of seven (7) years prior experience in large heathcare organization with three (3) years in management capacity. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or related field.
Possess detailed knowledge of hospital operations and patient flow.
Have working knowledge of billing functions, medical terminology, State and Federal rules related to billing collections.
Possess detailed understanding of Revenue Cycle processes and associated systems.
Utilize analytic ability to complete high-level problem solving, develop and provide direction in the implementation of short and long-term goals.
Provide administrative direction to managerial personnel in the resolution of problems or difficult tasks.
Demonstrate financial acumen to prepare and analyze budgetary reports and system-generated reports to resolve questions and concerns related to departmental performance.
Operate independently and review staff performance.
Demonstrate proficiency in Word, Power Point, Excel and Access.
Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision.
Be open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.
Be able to prioritize workload and shift responsibilities as priorities change.
Be able to lead, mentor, influence and motivate others.
Possess personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation and discriminating judgment and accountability.
