Job Description:
We are looking for a college student currently majoring in either Finance or Accounting to fill an intern position within our tax group. This individual would be responsible for helping the tax manager prepare and file yearly tax returns for trusts and non-profit clients. The individual should be a team player and able to communicate through various levels in the organization. Must be flexible to the job description, and be able to take on new projects as they may come about, as well as have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Requirements:
- Tax knowledge preferred
- Working towards a Bachelor's degree - Accounting/Finance major required, sophomore status a minimum
- Ability to take on multiple tasks simultaneously and manage them all effectively
- Time Management skills
- High personal interaction skills and team player
- Very proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer knowledge
Key Accountabilities:
Tax Preparation
- Prepare the Forms 1041, 5227 and 990 on an annual basis for the trust accounts.
- Any other miscellaneous tax work.
Projects
- Be open to new projects as they may come about and flexible in their job description.
Mitigation of risk by:
- Helping to increase the accuracy of tax returns being prepared.
- Ensuring that regulations and communication with risk and compliance is maintained.
Impact through:
- Being flexible and able to multi-task between the tax and other departments.
Experience: Less than 1 year
Education: High School Diploma / GED
