Academic Employment Coordinator-School of Arts & Sciences
at University of Richmond in Richmond, VA
Provide support to the School's Director of Budgets and Operations by performing and coordinating personnel work across 20 academic departments specializing in faculty contracts, on-line job postings, payroll, job performance evaluations, job performance development program, University personnel policies and procedures, and employment data management for the School of Arts and Sciences.
Coordinate and process academic faculty employment contracts approved by Provost or Dean.
Maintain compliance with approved University policies and procedures.
Assist with job description data entry using the electronic HR job posting system to include job requisitions and job hiring justifications. Monitor and remove job postings from the A&S web page.
Assist with fielding questions from across 20 academic departments regarding faculty employment, faculty contracts, faculty leaves, leaves of absence, retirement, terminations, departure procedures, and specialized payroll matters related to the School of Arts and Sciences.
Track and maintain faculty data approved by Provost or Dean to include: payroll verification, tenure eligibility dates, faculty leaves and exceptions, retirees, leaves of absence, terminations, job titles, salary changes, and specialized payroll matters using the Banner system and other future reporting systems.
Maintain and provide semester sabbatical leave report to Provost Office, Deans, and Department Chairs.
Coordinate annual staff job performance evaluations to include distribution, collection, and tracking within a specified timeframe.
Maintain records with consolidated job performance data and assist with tracking job performance development goals and timelines for staff employees.
Distribute, collect, and review faculty personnel forms for completeness, accuracy, timing, and conformity to University and School policy guidelines.
Monitor and maintain current and future processes used to capture faculty data including Banner and other technology processes.
Requirements
General knowledge of hiring practices, faculty contract processing, and faculty data management in a University setting.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Attention to detail.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Working knowledge and ability in Banner Human Resources used in conjunction with other query reporting tools preferred.
General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and Access.
High level of confidentiality required.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred, but may be substituted with a combination of education and 3 - 5 years of related work experience. Prefer experience in university setting using an integrated Human Resources/Payroll system.
