Teacher's Assistant (After School Program)
at AVIVA Family and Children's Services in AVIVA Family and Children\'s Services
PART-TIME (2:30 - 6:00pm) Monday thru Friday (1:30 start time when early dimissal)
Aviva Family and Children's Services S.A.F.E. (Student Aftercare For Enrichment) Program
Child care and supervision of S.A.F.E. Program participants, reporting to S.A.F.E. Program Director
Attendance and participation in S.A.F.E. Program staff meetings
Completion of participant attendance sheets each day
Parent sign-out of all children enrolled in S.A.F.E. Program each day
Preparation and distribution of after-school snacks
Homework assistance for program participants
Direction and facilitation of activity groups
Identification of behavior problems, peer conflicts and referral of children to Program Director for disciplinary action, if needed
Assistance with children’s projects for S.A.F.E. Program Open House
Requirements
12 units in childhood education or child development:
6 units in childhood education or child development prior to employment
2 units in childhood education or child development per semester after employment
(until requirement is met)
6 months experience in a licensed day care center (or comparable group child care program)
Experience = 3 hrs. per day for a minimum of 50 days in a six month period
(or)
A current and valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
6 months on-the-job training and/or work experience in a licensed day care center (or comparable group child care program)
Experience = 3 hrs. per day for a minimum of 50 days in a six month period
(or)
A Children’s Center Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Preparation and Licensing
