Position Summary:
The 20-hour/week position is responsible for the implementation of Varitronics? online communication strategy as it applies to the websites (www.variquest.com and the VQ Team Site), online marketing, search engine optimization and strategy, plus the coordination of other web communications tactics.
The Web Marketing intern will assist in creating measures as well as analyzing and optimizing online marketing programs in order to deploy highly effective marketing programs.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Working towards a 4-year degree with a Marketing/IT or related major preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Years of experience: Online marketing experience to the education market preferred. Experience with search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing (SEM), website operations, and web analytics (WebTrends).
- Computer and software skills: Basic understanding of HTML. Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Flash, and Acrobat Professional preferred.
- Analytical skills: Data analysis knowledge and experience
- Language Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication abilities with edit and proofreading skills
- Mathematical Skills: Creative thinker with ability to translate metrics into strategies to improve results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Web marketing
• Utilize the web marketing via Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) to build brand awareness around VariQuest.
• Track and analyze web activity by assessing and refining our success using Web analytics: website hits, leads, etc.
• Work with Graphic Designer to enhance website look and feel.
• Assist in identifying and developing affiliations with target education companies exploring synergies to include co-marketing opportunities such as web links, etc.
• Assist in identifying and developing a network of VariQuest champions to include a network of evangelists spreading a message.
• Assist in developing new market segments within special education, professional development, and grant writing
• Develop, implement and monitor SEO program with regard to keyword ranking, indexed pages, backlinks, ad words, etc.
• Assist Webinar Specialist by promoting weekly webinars on our websites
• Assist in developing, monitoring and refining integrated marketing campaigns.
• Develop leads through web marketing programs such as a Nationwide Referral Program
• Suggest and implement ongoing refinements to existing website (www.variquest.com)
eMarketing
• Solid understanding of technology and its use meeting business needs and goals.
• Create brand awareness, interest and leads: assist in the design, implementation, and ongoing assessment of Varitronics online programs, work with Graphic Designer to create templates for email campaigns, and ensure quality of all emails…coordinating the scheduling, production, and deployment of email marketing campaigns.
Project coordination
• Coordinate eMarketing projects requiring synthesis of web development, graphic design, and copywriting activities;
• Work with Graphic Designer to design web pages, web graphics, flash presentations, web banner ads, HTML, and emails.
• Collect web content from the business with technology to translate needs/requirements into functioning websites/applications.
• Coordinate web content, updates and design changes to www.variquest.com.
• Work with Product Marketing and Graphic Designer to create landing pages.
• Assist with integrating email campaigns and web leads into Salesforce.com; skilled in conducting marketing research
