Web Developer/Designer Internship

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a professional intern assignment with no guarantee of permanent placement. The Web Developer / Designer Intern will be responsible for assisting with creative design, development, testing and maintenance of the various applications. This may include Web or Desktop Applications utilizing the latest technology and Client and Server-Side Scripting Languages, SQL Database design and coding, including reporting. The Web Developer will be involved in various aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, implementation, release and maintenance.
NOTE:
Recruiting candidates for this INTERNSHIP for January 2009. INTERNSHIP begins in January 2009 and ends in June 2009. The deadline to apply for this position is October, 3rd 2008. The application process for this INTERNSHIP, including candidate communication and hiring decisions will be completed by November 28th, 2008.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the job.)
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field
• One or more years of IT education and/or practical IT experience
- Comprehensive understanding of an Internet development environment
• Working knowledge of web servers and operating systems (Windows/Linux/Apache/IIS)
• PHP
• Flash Action Scripting
• SQL
• JavaScript
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, partnering skills, and an energetic and a positive attitude
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of Java/JSP
• Knowledge of Access Macros, Forms, and Reporting
• “LAMP” Environnent – Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP
• Familiarity with Internet protocols and standards such as - DNS, FTP, SSH, HTML, XML, SNMP and other protocols
• Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite CS2 / CS3
• Exposure to web services
• Flash Action Script
• Flash Animation
• Photoshop / Illustrator
• Adobe Flex experience
