Information Technology Intern
at IAC Consumer Applications & Portals in White Plains, NY
IAC Consumer Applications & Portals (IACCAP) is among the fastest growing divisions of IAC. It includes such popular products as Zwinky, Smiley Central, Webfetti, Cursor Mania, My Fun Cards and Popular Screensavers. It also features such well-known Internet mainstays as Excite and IWON, as well as the syndicated MyWay portal and Ask toolbar businesses.
Our White Plains office is looking for an intern to join our ITNS department. This is a great opportunity for a college student who has a general interest in IT and would like to learn more about the industry from a helpful, knowledgeable and fun staff.
Job responsibilities:
• Un-box, configure, set-up and diagnose performance of workstations.
• Respond to Service Desk calls which include troubleshooting, diagnostics and/or loading application software on workstations.
• Perform routine hardware moves and changes.
• Perform simple upgrades involving the installation of software patches, version upgrades, and application configuration.
• Record PC, laptop and server information for inventory records.
• Utilize ticketing system to track calls and issues to closure.
• Un-box, rack and stack servers and other equipment.
Knowledge and skills required:
• Knowledge of basic PC and Laptop architecture
• Knowledge of Windows XP/Vista
• Experienced internet user with knowledge of multiple browsers (IE, Firefox) a must.
• Knowledge of Linux or MAC a big Plus
• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with Antivirus/Antispyware software
• Interest in technology and ability to learn
• Strong Communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
