Sales Internship
at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI

As a CDW•G Sales Intern you will support Field Account Executives (FAE) and Account Managers (AM) on campus at the University of Michigan where there is opportunity for significant growth. You will focus on building relationships at departmental levels within the University which will increase transactional business and identify larger IT opportunities.
Essential Functions:
• Break the campus down by department and schedule meetings with the key purchasers in each department
• Set the customer up with an online account if this is not already done
• Explain the procurement agreement between CDW•G and the customer
• Walk the customer through the order process on the CDW•G website
• Introduce the FAE (and the AM to new customers)
• Report business opportunities to FAE and AM
• Highlight CDW•G’s relationships with HP, IBM and other key manufacturer partners
Additional Responsibilities:
• Participate in campus technology trade shows and vendor fairs
• Work with local FAE and vendor partners to schedule lunch and learn sessions at the department level
Organizational Relationships:
• Reports to appropriate Field Sales Manager
• Coached by appropriate Field Account Executive
Work Environment:
The job will be primarily on campus and the individual will be coached by the local FAE. Program begins immediately and continues until the student has graduated.
• This allows us time to train the individual
• Additional presence during the educational busy season
The intern will be working closely with our customers at the campus department level giving them a better understanding of CDWG’s internal systems and processes. The intern must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers.
