Government Affairs Undergraduate Intern

Requirements:
- Currently enrolled college students – JUNIOR OR SENIOR status ONLY, pursuing degrees in political science, pre-law, communications.
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 (may be verified)
- A commitment of up to 30 hours per week is required.

• Basic understanding of the legislative process at the federal, state and local levels of government.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to relate to and work in a professional environment with healthcare professionals and representatives of the community.

Government Administration Interns will:
• Attend, and participate in, meetings and briefings with legislators, their aides and other civic officials.
• Conduct research associated with legislative proposals and advocacy campaigns in an effort to prepare briefing materials for distribution within the Hospital and externally.
• Assist with the coordination of community-based programs organized and administered by the Department.
• Provide support for Hospital advocacy campaigns focused on legislative initiatives and public health benefits.
• Conduct outreach, as needed and directed, with internal and external resources, including trade associations, to acquire information, statistics, and materials needed to support Department activities.
