Under supervision of RF Engineer or Sr. RF Engineer, the UMTS RF Intern will assist with monitoring, analyzing, and reviewing network performance, design, and capacity requirements. The intern will also be involved in completing regulatory compliance documents and maintaining appropriate databases. The intern will be responsible for monitoring the workflow of drive test data and quality assurance.

Job Duties

• Use RF Engineering principles and planning tools to maximize coverage, capacity, and performance of UMTS radio network. A RF Engineer must use creativity and sound judgment to provide the proper design of the portion of the network assigned to them.
• Responsible for monitoring the workflow of drive test data and quality assurance; generating reports of KPI’s (key performance indicator); and following-up on milestone reports.
• Works with other engineers and operations to address discovered issues.
• Must have the ability to interface with cross-functional team members to gain the support required to accomplish their assignments

Technical Skills Required:

• Electrical or Digital Communications Engineering or similar
• Wireless systems fundamentals
• Antenna Theory
• Database (SQL) knowledge
• RF Engineering principals and planning tools

Education:

• Masters in Electrical Engineering or related
• Microsoft SharePoint / SQL / Database Admin

• Location: Frisco , TX (We do not offer relocation for internships)
• Timeframe: May/June 2008 – Aug/Sept 2008
