Engineering Intern - Business Development

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role at the Newark Compounding Facility is to provide support to the Business Development Group.
The incumbent will:
• Support the mechanical design and analysis activities of the Applications Engineering Group in various markets including, automotive, medical, consumer, electronics and industrial;
• Prepare concepts and/or Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) models for downstream finite element analysis (FEA);
• Assist the Newark Color Tech Center, as needed, in computer-aided color rendering and additional lab tasks;
• Support the marketing efforts of the group by preparing required information. utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint or Word for presentations and technical reports.
Qualifications
The selected candidate:
• Must have completed freshman year of college with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related field. PhD candidates are welcomed;
• Must have GPA of 2.5 (in both major and overall);
• Must meet requirements and supply documentation of compliance for all student eligibility outlined by PolymerOhio at: www.polymerohio.org/;
• Must register for the internship at: www.ohio3fip.com;
• Possess the basic coursework in design, engineering analysis and material properties;
• Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to interact with a variety of professional staff;
• Possess the ability of attention to detail and adherence to operating guidelines and all safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with CAD or Industrial Design software (i.e. SolidWorks, Pro/E, CATIA, others);
• Fundamental Experience with CAD workstation hardware;
• Leadership skills demonstrated through involvement in extracurricular or community service activities.
