Highway Logistics Intern

POSITION SUMMARY: Receives orders, sets up loads, inputs shipment data to allow for proper tracking, dispatches equipment, traces shipments and negotiates rates on a per load basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Retain past customer business through calling and e-mails
• Provide customers with quotes on shipment & freight
• Conduct cold sale calls within a certain region and industry
• Research businesses to uncover potential opportunities
• Dispatch loads which includes track and trace of load
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Good organizational and analytical skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills; works well under pressure; team player.
• Broad knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
• Ability to use standard office equipment such as computer terminal, calculator, fax machine and copier.
