The EHS Intern supports the EHS Office with establishing a culture of safe behaviors and procuring and maintaining a safe workplace for all persons on-site. Under the direction of the EHS Office the position will assist with all facets of the EH&SMS as needed. Position is located in the Florence, SC facility.
• Assists EHS Coordinator with implementation and maintenance of EH&SMS
• Assists with providing/coordinating training at the facility with respect to hazards and associated prevention and control measures
• Aids in the investigation of incidents, the development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions
• Conduct various inspections, audits and assessments to observe behavior and conditions
• Updates and maintains EHS database and records
• Identify aspects, impacts and hazards associated with work processes/tasks
• Complete Machine Specific Lockout/Tagout Procedures
This individual will need to be a people-oriented leadership style that seeks to educate and motivate. Time must be spent on the production floor to assist EHS Coordinator with risk assessments and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Good working knowledge of MS Office including Power Point, Word, Excel. A junior or senior working towards procurement of a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or Environmental Sciences is preferred
