Software Quality Assurance Intern

Primary Function
Quantum Intellectual Property Services seeks highly skilled and motivated Software Quality Assurance Intern to provide on site, fully dedicated services for our client Intellectual Ventures. Our environment is an n-tier .NET environment where the QA Intern is primarily responsible for development and execution of software test cases for internal applications and related systems.

Founded in 2000, IV’s business model centers on creating, acquiring and licensing pure invention in a variety of technology areas. IV plans to commercialize inventions through licensing, spin-offs, joint ventures and industry partnerships.

Essential Job Function
• Develop and execution of software test cases
• Use functional requirements, specifications and other inputs to develop and execute test cases
• Participate in software problem isolation and resolution processes, including use of problem tracking systems and interaction with software developers on problem isolation
• Learn and apply structured approaches in developing software tests
• Preparation of test data and test evaluation reports
• Participate in software design reviews
• Contribute to efforts to implement improvements to SQA test environments
Skills, Education and Experience
• Actively enrolled or having recently completed degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or demonstrate equivalent training or technical experience.
• Knowledge of .NET Framework, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server,
• Experience with testing tools such as Silk, Test Director, etc
• Ability to apply structured test development and execution methods
• Effective problem solving and analytical skills
• Effective time and priority management skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Energy and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently, usually without supervision.
• Ability to think creatively, work under pressure and demonstrate strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail & works well in a team environment.
