Job Description:

Altria Client Services is seeking a Temporary Communications/Public Relations Professional to provide support to our Corporate Responsibility and Stakeholder Relations Teams in Richmond, VA.

Specific accountabilities are as follows:

Contributions:

• Conduct research on promising programs and non-profit organizations related to focus areas
• Analyze grant proposals and make funding recommendations
• Participate in review meetings for grant proposals
• Develop mailing lists and prepare and execute mailings for Request for Proposals
• Review interim and final grant reports and prepare executive summaries
• Track receipt of grant proposals and enter grant request information into GIFTS
• Track and report on contributions programs using GIFTS database Communications
• Assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of our Communication Tools
• Assist in the drafting and update of Intranets/Internet content
• Draft correspondence/communications to the internal and external stakeholders
• Participate in ad-hoc communication strategy, design and planning
• Develop draft content for external reporting (EIRIS/Innovest)
• Assist in the launching of OneReport - schedule meetings, track progress on plans and data input, follow-ups Engagement
• Engage with leading non-profit organizations and other community stakeholders
• Coordinate the development and execution of an employee volunteer program in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup including communications, logistics and recruitment of employees Program/Process Administration
• Coordinate project timelines and update project trackers
• Track and compile key performance indicators
• Assist in the management of the functional budgets
• Coordinate meetings and events
• Assist in the organization of department EDMS and help transition records from ECMS-RM to BHL
• Assist in conference calendar maintenance needs

Qualifications:

• Have an interest in communications and public affairs related work
• Have an interest in current events, especially in the world of business and industry
• Have an interest in political issues, such as legislation and regulation
• Must be computer savvy, particularly in using databases and search tools
• Must be professional and courteous at all time, especially when answering media calls
• Must be able to exercise good judgment in choosing articles for relevance and avoiding redundancy
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to multi-task, prioritize workload, and make sound decisions while working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
