Account Associate
at Valpak in New York
Account Associates needed for Manhattan, Brooklyn & the Bronx.
Reporting to the General Manager, this position works as a partner with assigned Account Executives to perform professional administrative and sales duties. These duties include retention and servicing existing accounts and developing new business. The Account Associate acts as the primary internal contact between customers, field Account Executives, and internal production, marketing, and order processing functions.
1. Account Management: Manages and supports existing accounts while generating additional revenue from current customers. Regularly assesses and prioritizes accounts for development of additional Valpak business.
2. Sales Execution: Manages internal resources to ensure customer requirements are understood and met through a seamless business process. Anticipates potential problems, solving most in a way that is transparent to the customer.
3. Business Development: Identifies opportunities to grow business with existing customers, targeted prospects, franchise partnerships, and competitor customer lists. Qualifies prospects for face-to-face appointments with Valpak Account Executives.
4. Market Analysis: Applies business intelligence to identify selling opportunities. Analyzes Valpak content by NTA to identify missing categories for prospecting by assigned Account Executives. Analyzes competitor activity and market trends to identify business opportunities and threats.
5. Sales Presentations: Prepares sales presentations to generate new business, or expand existing business with Valpak solutions.
6. Account Administration: Creates and maintains prospect and client databases. Fulfills all administrative requirements to ensure that all client accounts conform to the office policies.
7. Learning and Development: Participates actively in continuing development of sales, marketing and product knowledge.
8. Other Duties: Performs other duties as needed or required to support the business goals, profitability, and operating philosophy of the CTM sales organization.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong organizational and project administration skills, Consultative selling skills, Outstanding customer service skills and customer focus, Ability to manage time to meet deadlines and prioritize opportunities, Excellent oral and written communication skills, Computer skills including use of sales tools, internet, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration, communications or related field preferred, with demonstrated sales and marketing aptitude. Up to four years of sales, marketing or customer service experience may be substituted for the educational requirement for this position. Media sales or customer service experience is a preferred qualification.
